The Goll Mansion is on the market!
In a sale hidden from most brokers and unlisted on the MLS, the Goll Mansion and it’s surrounding property at 1550 North Prospect Avenue in Milwaukee is for sale. It is being offered by Siegel-Gallagher, Inc. for $1,950,000.00. The package includes the mansion and land (a 0.64 acre development site), one of the last few remaining along the Lake Michigan lakefront. 100+ unit construction is possible. From Siegel-Gallagher’s own description: “The existing historic structure, which can be creatively incorporated into a larger multifamily development, has a floor plate of approximately 2,965 square feet (10,750 square feet across three floors, plus a basement). Possible configurations include utilizing the first floor for the main entrance and common areas, and the second and third floors for the build out of multifamily units. A multi-story tower could then be built to the east of the existing structure which would position the new tower closer to Lake Michigan than its neighbors to the north and south, resulting in dramatic, unparalleled views from the units.”
The Goll Mansion site was to be the location of the Transera development. Transera was supposed to be a beautiful modernist residential/mixed-use development with a 27-story tower. It was to incorporate the existing historic Goll Mansion as its entrance. Unfortunately for the the Transera project, it only approved by the Milwaukee Common Council in 2008, fell victim to the recession, and never came to fruition.
